The International Award For Young People
Empowering The Young Minds Of Our Country
The International Award for Young People (formerly The Duke of Edinburgh's Award) is a globally recognized program that inspires young individuals to strive for excellence. Participants embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth, earning Bronze, Silver, & Gold awards by completing four integral sections: Voluntary Service, Adventurous Journey, Skill Development, and Physical Recreation. Through this award, young people develop essential life skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. The program's flexible framework allows participants to tailor their experiences to their interests and passions, fostering a sense of purpose and achievement. The minimum period of participation is 6 months for Bronze, 12 months for Silver and 18 months for Gold. Please note that the Award’s concept is one of individual challenge, giving young people a balanced, non-competitive programme of voluntary activities. By completing the award, young individuals become confident, responsible, and compassionate leaders, equipped to make a positive impact in their communities.

-
Young people choose their own path through the framework, building their own individual programmes. In doing so, they discover new things about themselves and develop the skills, behaviour and attitudes needed to be good citizens.
-
When they earn their Award, they receive internationally acclaimed recognition of their achievements.
-
The demands on the young people for admission into top colleges and universities, both within India and abroad, require them to be able to think critically, think conceptually, and develop research and analytical skills.
-
The Award experience stimulates the abilities of Confidence; Resilience and determination; Relationships and leadership; Creativity and adaptability; Planning and problem solving; and Communication.
-
A first-class academic education is essential, but it’s only half the story of what a young person needs to equip themselves for life. Not only do they need a good formal education, they need a great non-formal education too. Non-formal education is what goes on outside the classroom – sport and physical recreation, community service, adventurous activity and the development of life skills.
-
Non-formal education helps young people to develop the qualities of perseverance, grit, curiosity, optimism and self-control. They are known as ‘character’ and the ‘development of character’ is the business of International Award for Young People India.
-
We help equip young people for life. The Award also provides a framework for schools and youth organizations when planning their non-formal education activities.
